Members of the Soya Value Chain Association of Ghana at a national stakeholder meeting

Who we are

A national association, built by the chain itself

How we began

From a ministerial visit to a registered association

On 23 October 2018 the Hon. Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Akoto-Afriyie, visited the Techiman Municipality and invited every stakeholder in the soya beans industry to meet him at the Premier Palace Hotel. He instructed them to form a steering committee — a body that would synchronise the scattered activities of soya value chain players, so the Ministry could identify the real challenges and raise production for processing and export.

It is in response to that call that the Soya Value Chain Association of Ghana was formed, and duly registered with the Registrar General’s Department as a company limited by guarantee under the Companies Code 1963 (Act 179) on 13 December 2018.

Our objective

To establish a value chain association for soya beans in Ghana, with legal backing from Government, to coordinate all stakeholders and activities of soya beans and soya products in the country.
